Used it for the first time tonight and the food was scorched under a medium flame which required extensive cleaning only to have it rust while it was drying. I spent way too much money on these pans for them to have rust spots after one use

Hi Lenny,

Thanks so much for leaving a review on our Shopify page! It sounds like the initial seasoning on your pan might have been scrubbed off after some food got scorched — something that happens to the best of us!

When the oil seasoning is scrubbed away and the pan is left to air dry without re-seasoning, it can lead to rust (as is the case with all carbon steel pans). But don’t worry, this is an easy fix!

All you need to do is scrub off any rust, then re-season the pan following the regular seasoning process. We’ve got a helpful video that walks you through the process on our shopify page. It won't let me post a link here, but just search for SB Forge Shopify online and you'll find it. Scroll down to the "care" section.

With a little seasoning after each use, your pan will only get better with time. We hope this helps, and we’re here if you have any more questions!

Really excellent, sturdy, beautiful pans. They make me want to cook more. I can't decide if i want to leave them to my children or be buried with them
